Braga Youth Centre renews Green Key Environmental Certification for the fourth consecutive year
Braga, [insert date] – For the third consecutive year, the Braga Youth Centre has been awarded the prestigious international Green Key certification, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, ecological education, and the responsible management of its resources.
The first Green Key certification was granted to the Braga Youth Centre in 2023 and has been renewed annually since then. This consistency demonstrates not only the strict compliance with the environmental criteria established by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) but also the high quality of service provided by this public youth facility.
Coordinated in Portugal by the Associação Bandeira Azul da Europa (ABAE), the Green Key award recognises the implementation of best practices in areas such as energy efficiency, waste management, responsible water consumption, sustainable mobility, and community awareness for environmental preservation.
This recognition is more than just an environmental quality label — it is a testament to the Braga Youth Centre team’s daily efforts to foster a culture of sustainability among young people, visitors, and partners. The distinction reinforces the centre’s role as a national reference in the youth sector, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of climate action, quality education, and sustainable communities.
