Swappers - Green Fest Braga
On September 29th, the Braga Youth Center participated in the Green Fest Braga, the greenest festival in the country, with the "Swappers - Second-Hand Exchange." This project was organized by the HUNG(A)RY FOR MORE team, a group of young people who emerged through the applications for the 16th European Youth Parliament for Water, of which the CJB is a partner, to be held from October 20 to 26 in Budapest and Szolnok (Hungary).
This event marks the first action of the 1 Million Youth Actions Challenge in Portugal, a project also developed by the International Secretariat for Water / Solidarity Water Europe, which encourages young people to carry out small and large actions in the field of sustainability, aiming to reach 1 million actions worldwide.
In total, 127 items of clothing and books were exchanged from hand to hand, and we would like to thank all the participants who made a difference by acquiring second-hand items, thus working towards more sustainable consumption habits in our daily decisions.
All remaining items from our exchange were donated to Ponto Vermelho Braga, associated with the Portuguese Red Cross, ensuring that they will be given to those in need or continue to be distributed in a sustainable market. The Braga Youth Center holds the Green Key certification, making it a priority to carry out its initiatives as sustainably as possible, also fulfilling its 2024 Environmental Action Plan through the donation of Lost and Found items.
